Each room is dedicated to a specific historical moment in the Macra’s village life to discover not only the fantastic natural environment with its mountains and hiking pathways but also some bit of history where you are heading your next footsteps!

Hostel Room “910” (Saracens)

The arrival of the Saracens in the Occitan Valleys at the start of the X century is where our story starts. When at the 973 finally the feudal landlords drive back the enemies, to remind the victory, starts the Bajo, a traditional folkloristic event that you cannot lose!

In the esprit of this kind of events and celebrations the room is shared with all the travellers. You can book a bed and share the room with other backpackers for a low cost travel! If you wish to book all the room please just contact us! This room has an indipendent bathroom just outside to do not disturb your roommates!

Double Room “1492” (H.Clemer)

While Cristoforo Colombo was landining in the “Indias”, Hans Clemer, a Flemish painter known in the valley as Maestro d’Elva was active in Piedmont in the Marchisate of Saluzzo area. He was an exponent of Flemish Gothic painting and unique small churches unveil authentic masterpieces to be checked during your stay.

Family room “1176” (Foundation)

The first document in which Macra appears, with the name of Alma, is a donation by Enrico di Montemale, no later than 1176, to the canons of Oulx, in which among the tithes appears the wine produced from the vineyards cultivated locally on terraces fin towards the middle of the last century.

Double Room “1793” (Valley militias)

The Macra’s municipality then passed to the Savoys with the Treaty of Lyon (1601). In the following centuries the whole area was the land of passage of different armies, including the Savoy ones and Valley’s militias formed.

Family room “1254” (Statutes)

The Alma’s Municipality was part of the Marquisate of Saluzzo with the other municipalities of the Valley, which had its own statutes since 1254 based on ancient customs.
